“SLP already filed in Zahid Farooq case”

Jammu, Feb 06: Contesting the news report about non-filing of Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Zahid Farooq case, the government today said the same had already been filed in December past.
According to the government spokesman, the sanction has already been granted by the Law department to the Home department for filing of SLP on Dec 09, 2011, following which the Home department filed the petition which has been diarized under No. 3454 of 2012 by the registry of the Supreme Court.
The spokesman further maintained that as per the communication of the standing counsel representing the state in the apex court, the matter shall be listed before the Supreme Court within two weeks.
