Jammu: In order to facilitate people of Jammu and Kashmir State seeking medical assistance in Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI ME&R), Chandigarh, the Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who is also the President of the institute has appointed former minister Yogesh Sawhney as his Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Yogesh Sawhney has been appointed OSD to President, PGIME&R, Chandigarh to guide and help people from Jammu and Kashmir State for availing medical facilities in PGI, Chandigarh.
The initiative has been taken by Azad for the convenience of people of J&K State who
otherwise used to find it quite cumbersome to get required medical aid at Chandigarh.
Sawhney’s focus will be to ensure timely medical aid to people belonging to far flung areas of Kashmir Valley and those of Jammu and Ladakh regions. He will be operating from his office in Jammu as well as Chandigarh.
