KU announces admissions in distance mode

Srinagar, June 23: The Directorate of Distance Education has announced admissions for 13 post graduate, diploma and LLB courses for which 2000 students from the valley, Leh and kargil regions of the state will be enrolled.
Directorate of Information technology and support services is collaborating with the directorate in providing online facilty to the students as well.
The mission of the DDE is to reach the unreached and extend the higher education facilities to those students who because of social , economic, geographical constraints are not in a position to go for higher education said Prof Nilofar Khan director DDE.. Students will have to purchase prospectus from the Accounts Section of Directorate of Distance Education, University of Kashmir against the cash payment of Rs.250/-Students have to fill up the application for admission online, Prof Khan informed.
The students have been asked to Log on to University websitewww.kashmiruniversity.net or website of Directorate www.ddeku.edu.in , Click on the menu on P.G /LL.B/P.G Diploma admissions 2011.and enter the prospectus number and registration number and follow the steps accordingly. Once the form is filled up, get the printout of the form and submit it along with marks certificates of qualifying examination (I, II and III year) or any other equivalent examination at DDE headquarters and original receipt of prospectus. The prospectus will be available at DDE office from 24th June to July 03, 2011 and the last date forsubmission of forms will be July 04, 2011.
The detailed information regarding fee structure, self-instructional studymaterial, contact classes, duration, courses of study etc. is given in theprospectus. The students can also contact the concerned teaching faculty / course coordinators for pre-admission guidance andcounseling. The counseling cell of the public relations centre also provides guidance and counseling to the students regarding the submission of online forms.
