Lucky draw of Solar home light held at Doda

DODA, FEBRUARY 06-To ensure hassle free and fair distribution of 1000 Solar Home Lighting Systems among the intending people under General Category scheme, a lucky draw was organized at Doda today. District Development Commissioner, Doda, Farooq Ahmed Khan was the chief guest on the occasion.
Additional District Development Commissioner Doda, G.N Balwan, Chief Planning Officer Doda Dr. Yassir Balwan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Doda Naresh Kumar and District Officer Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency Doda (JKEDA) Deepak Sharma besides a huge gathering of the people of the area were present during the draw of lots.
While speaking on the occasion, DDC said that these 1000 Solar Home Lighting systems are being provided to the people through Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency Doda and will be provided to the 1000 people on 50% subsidy. He said that the market cost of the system is Rs. 11000 and it will be provided to the people at just Rs.5500. He said that 2740 forms were received for the Solar Home Lighting system and it was decided that a draw of lots would be organized as the number of systems available is 1000.
It was also revealed that the people who figure in the draw of lots have to deposit the requisite amount i.e Rs.5500 to take the possession of the Solar Home Lighting system.
